Lime Scooter Causes Wreck

A Louisville police officer heard a collision at the intersection of South 2nd street and West Broadway on December 13th. Upon arrival, the officer observed Unit 1 and unit 2 in the middle of the intersection with a Lime branded scooter laying on its side. Johnathan Miller, the operator of Unit 1 stated that he was riding the scooter initially eastbound on West Broadway crossing in the intersection but then veered off across traffic going southbound on Broadway in front of traffic. He stated he did not have the right of way knowing the cross signal was red. He stated he was just trying to get across and a Semi-truck was in the far-right lane blocking his line of vision causing a blind spot and did not see Unit 2 starting in traffic. Unit 2 operated by Lakeisha Winston of Pascagoula Mississippi stated she was in the middle lane at the intersection when the light turned green. As she began to move in traffic, Unit 1 appeared out of nowhere. Winston stated she tried to avoid the collision but did not have enough time thus hitting the scooter. The scooter then hit the pedestrian.

On December 12th Unit 1 driven by Jorge Romero Avila of Dallas Texas, was traveling southbound on Bardstown Road in the area of Glenworth Ave. Unit 2, driven by Tonya Walton of Louisville, was directly in front of Unit1, also traveling southbound on Bardstown Rd in the area of Glenworth Ave. For reasons unknown, Unit 1 collided with Unit 2 causing damage to both vehicles.

On December 10th on 3rd ST. Road at Bruce Avenue, unit 1 driven by  Brandon Stovall-O’Brien, hit unit 2 driven by America Simon-Pinero, in the rear as unit 2 was stopped to make a left-hand turn causing moderate damage. No injuries were reported.
